What our clients say
Multisite FAQ
What to know before moving to a network.
When does WordPress multisite development make sense?
When you run many similar sites that share a theme, plugins and users, such as brands, franchises, schools or country sites. For unrelated sites, separate installs are usually better.
Can each site have its own domain?
Yes. Every site in the network can use its own domain with SSL.
Can sites use different plugins?
Plugins are installed once for the network and turned on per site. Site owners cannot add their own, which is usually good for security.
Does one broken site affect the others?
A bad plugin or code change can affect the whole network. That is why we test on staging and limit who can change code.
Can we move existing sites into multisite?
Yes. We migrate content, media and users, keep URLs or set redirects and launch sites one by one.
Does WooCommerce work on multisite?
Yes, each site can run its own store. Shared products or stock need a sync, which we build as part of the project.
